Ghosts

Ghosts are said to be the spirits of the dead that have either come back to our world or haven’t yet moved on to the afterlife. I personally have no reason to believe in ghosts but if something supernatural ever happened to me that involved a ghost, my views could easily be changed.
In Hamlet, the watchmen see the ghost of Hamlet’s father. The ghost later tells Hamlet that he is Purgatory because he wants revenge, so he tells Hamlet to kill Claudius. Ghosts are popular for coming back from the dead to tell someone something, especially in Elizabethan literature.
If I ever saw a real ghost I would definitely change my mind about them. But I believe in what I see, and since I have never seen a ghost I can’t help but not believe in them.

The Canterbury Tales

If I had to chose a character to travel with, I’d probably chose the Knight. He seems nice and I probably wouldn’t have any trouble with him. I wouldn’t want to make him mad though because he’d probably destroy me. But If I could get along with him okay then he’d be my choice of a traveling companion.

As for the character I would not want to travel with, it would be any of the religious folks. I myself am an Athiest and I cannot stand being in the presence of a hypocrite. Not to say that all religious folks are hypocrites… it’s just that most of the Christians I’ve ever met tend to preach about going to church and following the rule of God, and yet they do all kinds of things that go against the Bible. Particularly here in the South. But then again, the monk, prioress, friar, etc. are all fake anyways so it might not be a huge deal.

I think I’d be compatible with the knight as a traveling companion because he seems to be a quiet person and I’m generally quiet myself. I’m usually just not interested in talking, but when I do it’s either something to get a laugh out of someone or something to argue about. I wouldn’t be compatible with any of the religious characters because I don’t work well with people who try to tell me what I should do in life. I don’t think anyone should have the power to dictate what happens to me or how my life plays out, not even someone’s God. Sorry if you disagree but that’s life. :-P

New Blog

This is my first time using a classroom-assigned blog. I think it’ll be kind of fun because I get to talk about things other than school with everyone in the school. I look forward to it mostly because I like arguing with people.
